FAQs
How can we start meeting for therapy?
Request an appointment using the form online. Should you have problems completing it, feel free to call or text me at 720-260-4362.
What is your availability throughout the week?
I often say to my clients I will work to accommodate their unique schedules and needs when possible. In addition to typical business hours of 8 AM to 6 PM, I have some limited availability on nights/weekends.
What are your areas of specialty?
I specialize in treating grief and loss/trauma, relationship distress/communication concerns, and men’s issues and masculinities.
Where can I find a copy of your informed consent document?
One of the most important ethical obligations I have to you and those I serve is around informed consent. I want you to have a thorough understanding of your rights, my obligations, and time for questions. Before we meet for our first appointment, I’ll send you my documents and policies for your review.
What states are you licensed to practice?
I’m currently licensed in the states of Oregon and Wisconsin to provide psychotherapy services as a licensed psychologist. I cannot provide services to those accessing care outside of those states.
What should I expect in our first appointment?
I see the first session as an opportunity to get to know you across different domains of life — from family to social dynamics to what brings you to therapy. This “intake” is the tip of the iceberg for your life, and provides me with important information about what is going well and what we might focus on going forward.
How long are therapy appointments?
Sessions are scheduled for about 50-55 minutes, which is commonly known as the “therapy hour.”
Do you accept health insurance?
I accept Quartz, Dean Health Plan, and The Alliance. Importantly, I can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement (i.e., a “superbill”).
Where can we meet?
Sessions are conducted via telehealth/online video calls. In some circumstances (e.g., slower data service), I can offer phone-based psychotherapy, as well.
